Microneedling

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment used to improve skin texture, decrease pore size, and boost collagen production. Microneedling treatments are most commonly done on the face but are suitable for any part of the body. Treatments can effectively reduce the appearance of fine lines, hyperpigmentation, scars and stretch marks.

How Does It Work?
Microneedling uses a mechanically motorized device to create a “micro-injury” to the skin. This creates pin-point needle punctures to the epidermal and dermal layers to encourage cellular remodelling. By controlling the depth and frequency of needling, the skin responds by organic methods of bio stimulation to create new collagen and elastin fibers. This treatment has minimal discomfort and does not require topical anesthesia.

Common Skin Concerns Include:
• Fine lines and wrinkles
• Acne scarring
• Pore size
• Skin texture and tone
• Hyperpigmentation
• Stretch marks

When Will I See Results?
Results can be seen as early as 2-3 weeks after the first treatment. A series of 4-6 treatments scheduled 4 weeks apart is recommended to allow deeper remodelling of the skin and long-lasting results.

What is the Downtime for a Microneedling Treatment?
There is little downtime after a microneedling treatment, though mild redness and swelling may be seen for approximately 72 hours post treatment. Your treatment provider will recommend a customized home care treatment plan and inform you to avoid sun exposure for at least 3 days post treatment.
