Dermal Filler
Dermal fillers are made from a gel-like solution called hyaluronic acid; a substance that is naturally found in our bodies. It is derived from a sugar molecule which our bodies gradually dissolve and metabolize over time. As we age, collagen begins to deteriorate while gravity begins to pull the skin downward. Dermal fillers help to rejuvenate the skin by reducing appearance of fine lines and wrinkles and replenishing areas of volume loss. This treatment can be used to provide fullness to areas such as the cheeks and lips or contour and sculpt areas such as the chin and jawline. Due to each individual’s unique anatomy, this treatment will be tailored specifically to you.
Depending on the areas treated, dermal fillers can last anywhere between 6–12 months, or longer. The products are infused with lidocaine to reduce any discomfort and topical numbing agents can also be applied to treatment area if needed. It is recommended to avoid blood thinning agents such as aspirin, Advil or alcohol 24-48 hours prior to your appointment. Your provider will perform a consultation with you to determine the best treatment plan for optimal results.
